How does the campus network solve the problem of wireless roaming dropped?
In the mobile office era, WiFi roaming has become a daily routine, but from time to time we encounter situations where the network is disconnected and the business is interrupted, and we even need to re-do cumbersome security authentication for this. This is often because the IP subnet we belong to has changed during the move, and the terminal has to obtain a new IP address to adapt to the new gateway. To improve user experience and realize seamless roaming of campus wireless networks, there are two common solutions in the market: 1. Plan the area that needs to roam in a Layer 2 network, but the larger the Layer 2 network, the less secure it is; 2. A tunnel is established between the old and new gateways, and the roamed terminal traffic is transmitted to the original gateway through the centralized gateway controller for forwarding, which in turn leads to complex configuration and inefficient traffic forwarding paths, which affects roaming performance.
