Asterfusion launches 400G Data center Solutions based on SONiC NOS
Asterfusion on December 2022 announced its first set of 200G and 400G open data center network switches based its SONiC NOS with a main feature of low latency, aimed at alleviating the bandwidth needs of hyperscale cloud companies, large corporations, and other services in cloud data centers.
Asterfusion CX-N Data Center Switch From 2T- 12.8 Tbps — Featuring Industry Leading Analytics, Low Latency ,Programmability, With Enterprise SONiC NOS Inside
CX-N series is ultra-low latency Ethernet cloud switches self-developed by Asterfusion,It preloaded with a feature rich SONiC enterprise distribution-AterNOS which provides users a simple, plug-and-play deployment and turnkey solution. It can provide high-performance network services for high Performance Computing (HPC) clusters, AI big data analysis, High-frequency trading, Cloud OS integration and other services in cloud data centers, it can also be deployed in various scenarios such as cloud-based campus networks and carrier networks.
- Port to Port latency as low as 400ns;
- Preload with a full-featured enterprise SONiC distribution — AsterNOS;
- Support RoCEv2 and other advanced QoS features such as DCB,QCN to improve bandwidth utilization and reduce network transmission latency and jitter, helping to build cost-effective lossless Ethernet;
- Boxing-form device, enable networking to be more flexible and easier expansion;
- Support Zero Touch Provisioning,simplifying O&M workload and reducing overall operating costs.
New 200GE/400GE Models: 64×200GQSFP56 & 32×400GQSFP-DD Interfaces
- Adopt the latest generation of low-latency programmable chips–Marvell Teralynx ,which delivers the world’s highest performance switch silicon with large buffers, unmatched analytics through fine-grain telemetry, line-rate programmability, the industry’s best power efficiency in terms of performance per watt;
- The new algorithm reconstructs the upper software protocol to maintain low latency features on the control plane;
- A single box switch offers 200GE/400GE interface rates and undertakes greater throughput to meet MSDC (Massively Scale Data Center) requirements;
- Deploy fewer network switches, dramatically reducing cost and power consumption,allocating more resources to computing and storage services;
- Promote network flattening, with fewer hops on TOR switches with lower delays;
- Cooperate with Asterfusion’s Inband Network Telemetry solution to monitor network operation status in real time and to ensure stable network operation.

Asterfusion Low Latency Cloud Switch : A Cost -Effective Alternative To InfiniBand Switch
Field Test : Ultra-Low Latency Ethernet Switch VS. Infiniband Switch
The following is a comparison test in a distributed storage network scenario, and the devices participating in the test are all 32x100G specifications. Comparing the test results, we can clearly see that the overall performance of Asterfusion’s CX532P-N is better than Mellanox’s SB7700, and the latency level is lower.
In this storage scenario test, the CX532P-N switch outperforms the Infiniband switch (SB7700) in various features, and the CX-N series, which is a general-purpose Ethernet hardware, is only about 50% of the price of the dedicated device.
Compared with the construction of high performance computing or storage private network, using CX-N series to build a multi-network integrated converged enhanced Ethernet can greatly reduce the difficulty and cost of operation and maintenance.
