VxLAN (  Vitual eXtensible Local Area Network ) is essentially a tunnel encapsulation technology. It uses the common tactic of the TCP/IP stack – encapsulation/decapsulation technology, which encapsulates Layer2 Ethernet frames into Layer4 UDP datagrams and then transmitted in the Layer3 network.
